Former interim lightweight champion of the UFC, Tony Ferguson pleads not guilty regarding a charge of driving under the influence after being involved in a dramatic accident in Hollywood. The 39-year-old fighter was arrested on May 7 following the incident, which was captured on video by rapper Cash Gotti. The footage shows Ferguson’s overturned truck outside a nightclub. Allegedly, Ferguson refused to cooperate with law enforcement when asked to undergo a sobriety test.

Ferguson, who holds a record of 25 wins and 8 losses, has faced defeat in his last five fights, including a loss to Nate Diaz in September of the previous year. Despite his recent struggles, he remains a respected figure in the UFC, having been the former interim lightweight champion and holding the record for the longest winning streak in the division, tied with Khabib Nurmagomedov at 12 victories.

Ferguson is scheduled to appear in court later this month to address the charges against him. In the meantime, he has already been booked for his return to the Octagon. He is set to face Bobby Green in a main card fight at UFC 291 on July 29. The event will take place at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
