Sergio Aguero Compares Man City With Bayern Munich

Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero believes that current City forward Erling Haaland could be the key to unlocking Bayern Munich’s defence when the two teams meet in the Champions League quarter-finals next month.

Sergio Aguero, who left City for Barcelona last summer, acknowledges Haaland’s impressive goal-scoring record since joining City’s Premier League rivals Borussia Dortmund in 2020, and warns that Bayern will need to contain the entire City team, not just Haaland, in order to progress.

Despite being City’s all-time top scorer with 260 goals, Aguero was unable to help his former team lift the Champions League trophy during his time at the club. The city will be hoping that Haaland can help them go all the way this season after his £ 51 million transfer from Dortmund last year. The Norwegian striker has scored 42 goals in 37 games for City, including 10 in the Champions League.

Sergio Aguero wrote about the upcoming clash between City and Bayern in his blog, stating: “They know Haaland well enough and they know what he can do.

None of this should come as a big surprise to them. The main difference is that he’s in a team like City now, which has a great offensive playing style with many possible variations. They need to figure out how to stop the whole team, though, not just Haaland.”
