RCB Virat Kohli | Sanjay Manjrekar Passes Verdict | IPL 2023
Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has shared his opinion on whether RCB Virat Kohli should open for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the upcoming IPL 2023 season.
RCB, who missed out on the IPL 2022 final after losing to Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator, will begin their campaign on Sunday. Kohli, who has been in good form lately and was the highest run-scorer in the last T20 World Cup, had opened for RCB in the previous season with skipper Faf du Plessis, but their partnership did not always deliver.
Additionally, with Rajat Patidar unavailable for the first half of the tournament, many fans have suggested RCB Virat Kohli should bat at no. 3 this season. Kohli had a successful IPL 2022, finishing as the team’s second-highest run-scorer with 341 runs in 16 matches.
However, RCB still fell short of the title, losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final. Fans will be hoping for Kohli to replicate his impressive 2016 performance, where he scored a record-breaking 973 runs and won the Orange Cap.
Manjrekar’s verdict on Virat Kohli’s batting position will certainly add fuel to the debate surrounding RCB’s line-up this season. With the opening match just around the corner, fans will be eagerly waiting to see where Kohli will bat and whether he can lead RCB to their first IPL title.
