Misfits Boxing: Jake Paul criticizes Misfits Boxing as more of a “circus” than actual boxing

Popular YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has criticized KSI’s Misfits Boxing promotion, saying that it is more of a circus than actual boxing. KSI, another YouTube personality who has stepped into the ring, started Misfits Boxing in 2022, with matches featuring celebrities and social media influencers.

While the events have generated mixed reviews, some longtime observers have warned that the fights could result in serious injuries.

KSI has been experimenting with controversial concepts like tag-team boxing, which Paul believes is not true to the sport of boxing. In an interview with The Sun, Paul said that while the events may have entertainment value, they should not be considered real boxing. He added that influencer boxing has added fans to the sport and brought more respect and credibility when people were taking it seriously and putting on good fights.

Paul has also started his own promotion, Most Valuable Promotions, which promotes actual boxers like undisputed world champion Amanda Serrano and undefeated prospect Ashton Sylve. He has signed a multi-event deal with streaming service DAZN to put together a series of boxing events called the Most Valuable Prospect series, which will showcase top boxing prospects.

Paul is passionate about boxing and wants to use his platform to find the next generation of talent and help women’s boxing. He believes that the Misfits events are a separate side thing that he doesn’t care about, while his focus is on growing the sport of boxing in a professional way.
