Mercedes W14: Major Upgrades for W14 Formula 1 Car Ahead of Monaco Grand Prix

Mercedes has unveiled its eagerly anticipated upgrades for the W14 Formula 1 car ahead of the highly anticipated Monaco Grand Prix. The German manufacturer has undergone an extensive revamp of its 2023 challenger, opting for a new development path to enhance its performance.

Among the notable changes in the Mercedes W14 are the redesigned side-pods and suspension, showcasing a departure from the previous zero-pod concept. The team has adopted a Red Bull-style downwash side-pods design, with an additional inside channel to optimize airflow. These modifications aim to improve downforce, and overall performance, and address the handling concerns raised by drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

In addition to the side-pod updates, Mercedes has a new floor and new front suspension. Both of these have been spotted during testing. The team is optimistic that these advancements will not only enhance lap times but also provide a more stable and predictable platform for the drivers, ultimately boosting their confidence, particularly during braking.
