London Marathon Celebrities: Famous Faces Prepare for the Annual Race

The London Marathon 2023 is just around the corner, with more than 40,000 runners preparing for the annual race. This year, a host of London Marathon Celebrities will be among the running enthusiasts, all with their own reasons for taking on the challenge. Discover London Marathon Celebrities!

Chris Evans, the popular radio DJ, has completed eight London Marathon so far and will take on his ninth this year alongside his wife, Tash. The couple has described race as the number one event in their social diary.

Adele Roberts, another Radio 1 DJ, will also be taking on the challenge this year, just 18 months after undergoing life-saving bowel cancer surgery. Despite still recovering from the surgery, Adele is determined to cross the finish line and raise money for the Attitude Magazine Foundation, which supports LGBTQ+ causes.

Jake Quickenden, a former The X-Factor star, is raising money for Sarcoma UK in memory of his father and brother. Who both passed away from bone cancer within three years of each other.

Mumford & Sons frontman, Marcus Mumford, will be running for the Grenfell Foundation. A charity that supports bereaved families and survivors of the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire. Marcus is the chair of the Foundation and will be joined by members of the Grenfell community.

Louise Minchin, a former BBC Breakfast presenter. She has trained since November with the Couch to 5k program to prepare for her first London Marathon. Despite having had a knee operation.

Josh O’Connor, the award-winning actor who played Prince Charles in Netflix’s The Crown. He is set to run past Buckingham Palace on his way to the finish line.

Meanwhile, McFly drummer and Strictly winner, Harry Judd, will be swapping the stage for London’s streets. Harry started running in lockdown to support his mental health and has become a keen runner. He finished last year’s race in 3:14:37. He hopes to run sub-three hours one day.

These famous faces and thousands of other runners are all preparing to take on the London Marathon 2023, each with their own motivations and goals for completing the challenging course.
