Lamar Jackson ‘moves to’ Miami Dolphins in exchange for Tua Tagovailoa

Amid Lamar Jackson contract negotiations, the Baltimore Ravens could send the NFL star to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Due to his outstanding season, Jackson won the 2019 MVP award. Along with joining Tom Brady as the second player to receive the award unanimously. Jackson is one of the most exciting players in the NFL and deserves a good contract.

He’s already declined a sizable offer from the Ravens. Jackson reportedly declined an offer earlier this season worth $274 million over six years to keep him in Baltimore through 2027. With $133 million fully guaranteed, making his future uncertain.

The sides have ultimately been unable to reach an agreement due to Jackson’s demand. He wants more fully guaranteed money and a deal that is more comparable to Deshaun Watson’s fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract with the Cleveland Browns. One of the major issues is Jackson’s health.

The Ravens finished 2022 with a 10-7 record, making the playoffs. However, were defeated by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round. Lamar Jackson missed the final six weeks of the season due to a PCL sprain.

To prevent Jackson from testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent after exercising his fifth-year option on his rookie contract. Baltimore will have to place the franchise tag on the quarterback by the end of March if a new deal cannot be reached. The Ravens can only use the franchise tag to keep Jackson in Baltimore for another two seasons without a new contract.

“Mike McDaniel probably would do great with Lamar,” Sando reported. “Maybe a Lamar-for-Tua trade makes sense.”
