Kylian Mbappe Breaks Silence After Champions League Loss
The footballing world was caught off guard last year. This is when Kylian Mbappe defied speculation that he would join Real Madrid as a free agent. Instead signed a contract extension with PSG. The Frenchman may have made a mistake after witnessing his team get eliminated from the Champions League for a second time.
PSG had a stacked lineup of star strikers. However, they were eliminated from the Champions League by Bayern Munich in the round of 16. While Mbappe and Lionel Messi have both been brilliant this year. Their team as a whole appears extremely unbalanced and lacks the strength to challenge for Europe’s top award.
Concerns have been raised once again over Mbappe’s future, which is to be expected. Even despite the contract extension, the speculation about a transfer to Real Madrid persists.
Mbappe looks to be giving his undivided attention to his current role at PSG. After the game against Bayern Munich, the Frenchman reportedly told reporters from Express:
“Am I thinking about my future? No, no, I’m calm. The only thing that matters to me this season is winning the championship. Afterwards, we’ll see.”

And hence, Kylian Mbappe’s current goal is to win Ligue 1 with PSG. Nonetheless, he did not commit to sticking with the team for the foreseeable future.
A contract extension for Mbappe was signed, but it was not for a very long time. The first term is for two years, and the athlete has the opportunity to extend it for a third year.
It will be fascinating to see how long Kylian Mbappe stays in Paris after the club’s disappointing season (they failed to win the UEFA Champions League despite six efforts). There isn’t much more for him to accomplish at the domestic level, and he recently became the club’s all-time leading scorer.
