Kevin Durant: “I don’t regret anything I do”
NBA superstar Kevin Durant has no regrets about his decision to leave the Golden State Warriors and join the Brooklyn Nets, despite the move resulting in one of the most high-profile failed experiments in the league’s history.
Kevin Durant won two championships and two Finals MVP awards during his three-year stint with the Warriors but opted to sign with the Nets in 2019. His time in Brooklyn was less successful, as the team failed to make it past the conference finals.
Despite the disappointing results, Durant stated that he doesn’t regret anything he has done and feels that he has maximized every day as a player. He also emphasized the importance of giving his all in every game, regardless of the outcome.
Last summer, Durant had to watch from the sidelines as his former Warriors teammates won yet another championship. This season, he got off to a great start with the Nets before demanding a trade following Kyrie Irving’s departure. He was subsequently traded to the Phoenix Suns, where he has played in just eight games due to an ankle injury, but has made an immediate impact on the team’s success.
Durant’s addition to the Suns has helped the team remain undefeated since his arrival, and the team’s fans are hopeful that their small sample size of success will translate into a deep playoff run. The Suns will face off against the Los Angeles Clippers in one of the most highly-anticipated first-round matchups of the playoffs, which begins on Sunday.
