Mas expressed the club’s preparedness for Messi’s arrival, highlighting their financial flexibility and leaving room for additional signings. Mas emphasized that they would make more signings than what people anticipate, although there is no need for a complete overhaul of the squad.

Messi’s move to Inter Miami, following the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, will see him earn an annual salary between $50 million and $60 million in MLS. This figure excludes additional income from shares he will receive in Adidas, the league’s jersey sponsor, as well as from Apple TV, which broadcasts all MLS games through the ‘MLS Season Pass’.

Mas believes that Messi’s arrival will have a transformative impact on sports in America, expressing his conviction in building one of the top two leagues in the world, if not the largest, in the United States. He emphasized the significance of having the world’s best player in the league and the potential it holds for American football. Mas sees it as a collective effort between himself, league partners, and other owners to seize this opportunity.

Stadium Expansion: 3,000 More Seats in Four Weeks

In addition to David Beckham’s ownership, Inter Miami plans to undertake partial redevelopment of DVR PNK Stadium, located in Fort Lauderdale, approximately 50 kilometers from Miami. The stadium will undergo expansion within the next four weeks to include approximately 3,000 more seats. The announcement of Messi’s arrival has generated immense excitement in the city, resulting in skyrocketing ticket prices for both home and away games of Inter Miami.

To ensure the security of players and effectively manage the increased interest, the team will implement enhanced protocols that involve entering the stadium through a tunnel on a bus. Mas assured that all necessary measures are already in place.
