Injury-Plagued KKR And PBKS Hope For A Good Start To IPL 2023
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are gearing up for a positive start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, despite injury concerns. Both teams have been hit by injuries to key players. They are confident of putting up a good show in the tournament.
KKR, who finished fifth in the previous season, will be without the services of their star all-rounder Andre Russell. He has been ruled out due to a knee injury. The team will also miss the experience of spinner Sunil Narine, who is recovering from a finger injury. However, KKR’s captain Eoin Morgan believes that the team has enough depth in the squad to cover for the absence of Russell and Narine.
On the other hand. PBKS will be without the services of their star opener Mayank Agarwal, who has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury. The team will also miss the services of their captain KL Rahul, who is recovering from appendectomy surgery.
However, PBKS coach Anil Kumble is confident of a good show from the team. He believes that the young players in the squad will step up in the absence of Agarwal and Rahul. Both KKR and PBKS will be looking to make a positive start to the tournament and build momentum early on.
KKR will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their opening match on April 2. While PBKS will take on Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 3. Cricket fans around the world are eagerly waiting for the IPL 2023 to kick off, and with both KKR and PBKS hit by injuries, it promises to be an exciting and unpredictable tournament.
