The star player for the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James, is still out with an injury. However, he is keeping himself in the news with his activity on social media. On the other hand, his most recent tweet regarding Bronny and the NBA hasn’t gone over too well with a lot of his followers.
Some people are even making fun of James for his comments. Which appears to be a last-ditch effort on his part to convince the league to let his oldest son play.
For those of you who were unable to catch it. LeBron James appeared to take a jab at some of his NBA colleagues when he remarked that Bronny is “definitely better than some of these cats I’ve been watching on league pass today.”
He didn’t say who he was talking to in the Tweet, but many people felt he was referring to Grant Williams. The Boston Celtics’ star player who missed two free throws late in the game would have given the Celtics a victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
A commentator said, “Is it Grant Williams? Please say it’s Grant Williams,” A fan also responded, “It’s definitely grant Williams,”
Others, rather than focusing on who LeBron James is referring to on his tweet. Fans trolled the Lakers forward for making the slander to support his eldest child. Others have even drawn parallels between him and LaVar Ball. Who gets very excited about his kids’ NBA prospects long before they reach the NBA level.
A third commentator also said, “You know Bronny isn’t that good when [LeBron] is starting the drafting campaign more than a y[ea]r in advance,”
Another user of Twitter noted, “Bron is starting to sound a lot like Lavar. Putting a target on Bronny for no reason.” Another critic echoed these thoughts, calling James a “Lavar Ball type of dad.”
Here are some other reactions to the tweet,
