Chelsea’s Mason Mount agrees personal terms with Manchester United

Manchester United is close to finalizing the signing of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, with personal terms already agreed upon. This marks the beginning of a major overhaul at Chelsea, led by new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who aims to reshape the squad according to his vision.

Mount’s potential move to United would be a significant blow to Liverpool and Arsenal, both of whom have shown interest in the talented midfielder. Jurgen Klopp had targeted Mount as part of his midfield rebuilding plans, while Arsenal is pushing for Mount’s close friend, Declan Rice, who Bayern Munich is also pursuing.

While the clubs have yet to agree on the transfer fee for Mason Mount, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag expresses confidence in his ability to convince the 24-year-old to join the club. Ten Hag sees Mount as one of his top priority signings and hopes to utilize him as a No. 8 in the team. His dream transfer, however, remains Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

Talks between the two clubs have been progressing positively, particularly after their recent match against each other. Mount’s potential departure would be a setback for Ten Hag if the deal falls through, as the manager sees him as a crucial addition to the team.

In a separate development, Chelsea has given permission to Manchester City to engage in discussions with midfielder Mateo Kovacic. Although a fee has not been agreed upon yet, Kovacic’s preference is thought to be a move to City, where Pep Guardiola aims to freshen up his midfield options.
